LANDI KOTAL, 15 October: Parents of the missing 17 picnickers on Sunday appealed Afghan Taliban and Afghan government to locate whereabouts of their children and ensure their safe recovery.

Parents and local elders and ulema told reporters that the missing picnickers belonged to poor families who support their families by working as daily wage labourer.

They said that the kidnappers should not expect anything in return if they were kidnapped for ransom therefore the kidnappers should release them.

They said that mothers, wives and family members were passing through sever mental trauma and appealed the Afghan Taliban to help them trace the missing persons.

The picnickers who belonged to Adil Khad village were kidnapped some 40 days ago and were reportedly taken to Afghanistan. A tribal Jirga also went to Afghanistan for their recovery but failed.
