PESHAWAR, 23 May: Attendants of the patients admitted to the province’s largest tertiary care hospital, Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), held a protest demonstration against the hospital administration.
The protestors said the victims of the Shabqadar blast were left on the mercy of paramedic staff and even a single doctor did not bother to visit them. “There is no doctor in orthopedic ward or hospital’s emergency. Nurses are running the whole hospital,” one of the protestors alleged.
Another protestor said: “One of my neighbours was injured in the blast. So far not a single doctor came to treat our injured patient. The PTI government had made tall claims to bring change in governance system. They should also focus on hospital.”
On the other hand, medical superintendent of the hospital rejected the allegations of the protestors as baseless and said that all the on-duty doctors were present in the hospital.
