PESHAWAR, 24 October: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan has announced a cash prize of Rs1 million for Younis Khan after he become Pakistan’s highest Test run-scorer.
While talking to media on Saturday, Shahryar said Younis Khan will be awarded Rs1 million for scoring highest Test runs for Pakistan.
Earlier, Younis expressed disappointment over silence of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on his record. Younis said that he always played for his team and country. Younis, who hails from Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has become first Pakistani batsman to score 9,000 Test runs. He is the 14th international player to cross 9,000-run mark.
Former Test player Azhar Mahmood admired the achievement of Younis Khan and said that with this form he will also cross the 10,000 mark very soon.
Younis has scored 9,000 runs in 184 inning, 103 matches with the average of 54.3.
