PESHAWAR, 18 December: Pakistan tainted fast bowler Muhammad Aamir has got permission to participate in the fitness camp for the Pakistan cricket team’s tours to New Zealand and England.
Muhammad Aamir has recently resumed cricket after end of his five-year spot-fixing ban and shown good performance in the Bangladesh Premier League. The inclusion of Aamir in the fitness camp was doubtful earlier when some players refused to play alongside him. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan on Friday approved his inclusion in the fitness camp.
The PCB chairman said any decision on Aamir’s inclusion in the team for the New Zealand and England tours will be taken after visa clearance. The fitness camp will commence on 21 December.
Some former players in Pakistan are still against call back Muhammad Aamir in the national cricket team over his tainted past.
