PESHAWAR, 25 July: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed tour to Zimbabwe for a triangular series scheduled for next month. This bid is aimed at ensuring its chances to qualify for Champions Trophy.

After winning One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, Pakistan jumped to eighth from ninth position on International Cricket Council (ICC) ranking. This ensures its participation in the Champions Trophy.

In triangular series, if Pakistan loses either to West Indies or Zimbabwe it would drop it to ninth position and would lose the chance to qualify for Champions Trophy.

PCB sources said that Zimbabwe Cricket Board has been taken into confidence and it has no objection to the decision of postponing the tour.
