PESHAWAR, 30 October: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked Test captain Misbahul Haq to delay his retirement plans by at least one year.

The PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan told media persons in Lahore on Thursday that Misbah’s presence in the upcoming England and Australia tours is essential for good results. He said the PCB has requested Misbah not to retire from Test cricket before these tours.

Misbah had stated few days ago that he was making retirement plans. Earlier, former Pakistan cricket team opening batsman and eminent commentator Rameez Raja had also urged Misbah to delay his retirement by at least one year.

Misbah, who became Pakistan’s most successful Test captain after defeating England in second Test in Dubai last week, has been leading the Test team since 2010.
