PESHAWAR, September 20: The South Asia Partnership Pakistan, in collaboration with Citizen Rights, held a “Peace and Cultural Festival in the provincial capital Peshawar.
People from various walks of life visited the event.
On the occasion, the participants discussed situation in the tribal region and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They said peace was must for development activities in the region.
Cultural stalls representing the tribal areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also set up at the event.
One of the organisers of a stall set up by the Fine Arts Department of Peshawar university told TNN, “Women can play an important role in such kind of ceremonies because women can better present various cultural handicrafts. We are trying to raise awareness among people about the importance of peace in the tribal areas. We are trying to involve people of the tribal areas in such activities and for this purpose we are also offering them trainings.”
A musical programme was also held at the festival wherein cultural music and songs were played.
