GHALLANAI, September 26: A bomb blast has killed two members of a local peace committee and injured another in Mohmand Agency.
Officials of the political administration say a convoy of peace committee, while on routine patrol in Dawezi Maidano area of Pindyali tehsil, hit a roadside bomb.

The Mohmand Agency is one of the agencies in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, created in 1951. Before that, the Mohmand tribes were administered by the deputy commissioner of Peshawar.
However, it was not until 1973 that the headquarters of the agency were moved from Peshawar to Ekkagund. Now the permanent agency headquarters is at Ghallanai.
In 2009, the Pakistani military launched Mohmand Offensive, also known as Operation Brekhna (Operation Thunder) against the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan in the agency.
