PESHAWAR: Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization has announced construction of 356 micro hydel power stations in Malakand and Hazara divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The dams would cost Rs5 billion that would be completed in three years. According to media reports, these projects have already been approved and will be completed within next three years.

These micro hydel power stations will generate 35.6 megawatt electricity which will be provided to nearby villages.

The PTI chief before 2013 elections had claimed construction of 356 dams but could not materialize his promise after he was limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
