KARAK, 24 May: The people of Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have demanded establishment of a cancer hospital in the area.

A local resident of Shinwa Gadikhel, Habibullah told TNN that a large number of cancer patients in Karak died due to lack of treatment facilities.

“A large number of people died of cancer recently in our area. My father also died of cancer and two children and a woman in our area are bed ridden due to this disease. They can’t afford treatment charges,” Mr Habibullah said.

On the other hand, Dr Abdul Baseer of Bannu Cancer Hospital said the hospital provides all kinds of cancer treatment facilities.

“Every body part can have its own cancer. By the grace of Almighty Allah, cancer is no longer an incurable disease. In BINOR (Bannu Institute of Nuclear Medicine Oncology and Radiotherapy) we have all facilities of diagnosis and treatment of cancer,” Dr Baseer told TNN.

The people of Shinwa Gadikhel said establishment of a cancer hospital in Karak is inevitable to save the people from this disease.
