TIMERGARA, 20 June: Residents of Talash area in district Lower Dir have been facing acute shortage of water as most of the water supply schemes in the area are not function due to frequent load shedding of electricity and low voltage.

According to local people the situation aggravated for the last one week due to which they were forced to bring water from far flung locations in hot days of fasting.

They said the duration load shedding has reached to 20 hours right from the start of the month of Ramazan due to which most of the water supply tube wells were not operational.

They threatened that if the problem was not resolved within a few days, they would block the main Peshawar road as protest.

On the other hand, sub-divisional officer of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) rejected the impression that they were intentionally doing load shedding. He told TNN that due to high temperature the feeders got tripped which triggered power suspension to the area.

He assured that they would take measures to overcome the problem of low voltage during the next few days.
