PARACHINAR: Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from Kurram tribal district Iqbal Said Mian has said that the people of Kurram will not become part of the Azadi March of Maulana Fazlur Rehman as they are well aware of his politics.
Addressing a press conference along with tribal elders and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists in Parachinar on Friday, Iqbal Said Mian said Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to set the country on path of development and he is giving special emphasis on the development of merged tribal districts. He said no prime minister in the past gave so much importance to tribal districts.
The lawmaker from Kurram said failed politicians like the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief are trying to create difficulties for Imran Khan to pursue personal interest and foreign agenda. However, the PTI MPA said the people are well aware of the machinations of the JUI-F chief and they can never be duped by him. He predicted that the march of the Maulana is destined to fail.
Iqbal Mian said the Maulana remained the chairman of Kashmir Committee for a long time with the powers and perks of a federal minister, but he never lodged any protest for Kashmir cause or for the welfare of people during that time.
“On one hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan is making sincere efforts to unite the Muslim Ummah by playing reconciliation role between Saudi Arabia and Iran, while the Maulana is bent upon sabotaging these efforts at a critical juncture,” the PTI MPA said.
Iqbal Mian said a new era of development has initiated in merged districts under the PTI. He said the present government is giving so much importance to merged districts which was never given before. He urged the masses to become part of the development process and stay away from conspirators. He said the youth must utilise their energies in contributing to the development of the country.
The PTI activists and elders on the occasion vowed foil the march of JUI-F and contribute towards positive activities. They said the Azadi March of the Maulana will fail as it has no substance and it is being staged for personal interest.
