PESHAWAR, 17 November: The relatives and attendants of patients admitted in the Lady Reading Hospital on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against they boycotting doctors of the biggest health facility of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The protesters were of the view that doctors in LRH had not been performing their duties and making boycotts on daily basis as a result the general public who come to hospital for treatment got suffered.

“The doctors have been running their private clinics regularly but they do not perform duties in government hospital. It has become their routine business to announce strike go on boycott,” remarked one of the protesters while talking to TNN.

He said his brother was laying in the hospital since last three days with a fractured leg but none of the doctors bothered to check him.

“I have come from Dir. Our patient is laying on bad but there is no doctor in the ward. I can not afford to visit a doctor’s private clinic,” said another protester.

The doctors’ community had announced boycott after some of their colleagues were injured during a clash with the paramedical staff over the possession of a hostel the other day. The doctors had asked the hospital administration to lodge FIR against the office bearers of the paramedical association and threatened of boycotting duties in case FIR was not lodged against their opponents.
