People suffer as 7 power grid stations out of order in DI Khan for five days

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Power supply from seven feeders is disconnected due to technical fault in the grid station of Dera Ismail Khan due to which the domestic consumers and businessmen are facing many difficulties.

The feeders of Cantt No.1, Mandra, Maryali-1 and 2, Sago, Town Hall and Muslim Bazaar have been closed due to which power supply remains disconnected.

Muhammad Shah, a local resident, told TNN that their life has been affected badly for the last five days. “There is no clean drinking water in our homes and students are going to their schools without their uniforms. We cannot iron our clothes while going to office. The gird station officials have switched off their phones which is irritating,” he said.

The grid station in-charge Muhammad Wasim said the issue has been created due to technical fault in the main transformer of the grid station.

“Our experts have sought eight days to remove old oil from the transformer and fill it with new oil,” he said.

He said electricity is being provided to closed feeders for two or three hours daily from other feeders. He said the gird station was established in 1973 and it is overburdened due to which such incidents happen.
