RAZMAK, 13 October: After efforts of the area elders, curfew has been lifted from Razmak sub-division of North Waziristan, but the students of Razmak say curfew still continues in Asadkhel Dosali area.
Mir Kalam Wazir, representative of students from Razmak, said while addressing a press conference at Bannu Press Club on Thursday that the people of Asadkhel Dosali are facing a lot of difficulties due to curfew. He said the curfew has caused mental agony for the people and there is food shortage in the area. He said the area people also face difficulties in taking their patients to hospital in this situation. He said hundreds of people have been stranded in Bannu due to curfew in Asadkhel Dosali. Mir Kalam said the stranded people also include those who have come from abroad for holidays. He demanded the government to lift the curfew from the area to end the difficulties of people.
“About 350 families have been confined to their homes and they are facing uncertain situation due to unavailability of food,” Mir Kalam told TNN.
The students said they have also missed their MA papers due to curfew and their education has been affected.
Curfew was imposed in Razmak after three soldiers were martyred and eight others injured in a bomb blast in North Waziristan.
