NOWSHERA: Former chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pervaiz Khattak was injured after falling off stage during an election rally in Nowshera on Monday.

According to media reports, the former chief minister was addressing an election rally in Jehangira area of Nowshera when he fell off stage and sustained injuries in his back. Mr Khattak was taken to hospital where doctors advised him to take at least two days’ rest. Reports said the former chief minister will resume political activities after two days.

Pervaiz Khattak is contesting the upcoming general elections from the National Assembly constituency NA-25 and two provincial assembly constituencies PK-61 and PK-64 from Nowshera.

The PTI chief Imran Khan had also sustained serious injuries after falling from a lifter during a party’s rally in Lahore few days ahead of the general elections of 2013.
