PESHAWAR, 16 December: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has filed a writ petition in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) over not allowing him to participate in the sit-in of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad.

The chief minister has filed the writ petition through his lawyer Babar Awan in which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Inspector General Punjab Police and Director National Highway Authority (NHA) have been made respondents.

Mr Khattak said in the petition that stopping him from participation in a peaceful protest was illegal and unconstitutional. He sought legal action against the people involved in the incident.
