PESHAWAR, 21 October: The district administration of Peshawar on Wednesday arrested 12 people for manufacturing sub-standard food in Peshawar city, said a press release.
It said that the district administration raided on factories manufacturing food items of a poor quality in various areas of the city including Ring Road, Kohat Road and Industrial Estate Hayatabad.
The release further said that the administration also sealed a factory that was making chewing gums. Besides, a printing press was also closed by the administration.
Talking to media persons in Peshawar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Irshad Ali warned owners of factories and restaurants in Kharkhano Bazar to make and keep standard food items otherwise stern action would be taken against them. He requested people to inform the administration about those factories that are manufacturing and selling sub-standard food.
