PESHAWAR, 21 October: The district administration of Peshawar has decided to seal Peshawar city from today (Wednesday).
The district administration has said in a statement that all the markets in the routes of mourning processions will remain closed from Wednesday. The statement said pillion riding and entry of Afghan nationals in the city and Cantt areas will be banned from tomorrow (Thursday).
The administration said there will be ban on standing on roofs of buildings and houses situated near the imambargahs in Peshawar. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also decided to suspend mobile phone service in 15 sensitive districts on 10 Muharramul Haram.
Similar security measures have also been adopted in other sensitive areas of the country to ensure peaceful environment during Muharram processions.
