PESHAWAR, 13 July: The district administration has issued new price list for sweets sellers in the provincial metropolis.
The price list was issued at a meeting headed by Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Riazullah Khan Mehsud in Peshawar on Sunday. According to the new price list, the price of No 1 mixed sweets and gulab jaman has been brought down from Rs450 to Rs370.
The meeting was also attended by the president of Backers Association and other officials.
The citizens expressed happiness over the development and appreciated the district administration for its timely action to control prices of sweets.
“We used to buy sweets for Rs320-330 per kilogram, but today I have bought sweets for Rs260. A reduction of Rs70-80 per kilogram has been witnessed in the prices of sweets which is a very positive development,” a citizen told TNN.
“There were price lists for vegetables and other food items but people were facing difficulties due to unknown prices of sweets. The sweets sellers used to charge prices according to their own choice. Now the issuance of price list for sweets has benefited the people to a great extent,” another citizen said.
