PESHAWAR, 14 May: Peshawar Police have demanded Rs60 million from the provincial government for making security arrangements for the forthcoming local bodies elections.

SSP Operations Mian Saeed said 613 polling stations have been declared extremely sensitive in Peshawar district. He said 313 polling stations have also been declared sensitive. Mr Saeed said all the 14,000 cops in Peshawar will be deployed for the local bodies polls to ensure polling in a peaceful environment.

The police officer said the services of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and volunteer police personnel will also be utilised to ensure peaceful polls.

Police have demanded Rs60 million from the KP government for secure transportation of polling staff and equipment in 600 vehicles, fuel and food charges.
