PESHAWAR, 27 April: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday disposed of a petition seeking to stop the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) from carrying out construction work at greenbelt in Hayatabad.
As per details, two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Yakhya Afridi and Justice Ikram Ullah Khan heard the petition filed by a citizen Gulzar Khan. The petitioner argued that PDA is destroying greenbelt for construction purposes.
During hearing, the PDA assured the court that no construction work has been carried at greenbelt in Hayatabad. “No construction has been carried out at greenbelt,” PDA DG Saleem Hasssan assured the court. He told the court that even a state of the art park will be constructed at phase-IIV at the cost of Rs 1.5 billion. However, he said that it will not damage greenbelt.
Later the court disposed of the petition.
