PESHAWAR, 5 October: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered restoration of 200 sacked employees of Workers Welfare Board (WWB).
A two-member bench of the PHC headed by Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth heard the case on Wednesday. Justice Waqar said sacking of the employees was illegal and they should be restored.
These employees were sacked without any specific reason in 2013 after which they approached the PHC. The PHC had quashed the petition citing lack of jurisdiction in the matter. The sacked employees then moved the Supreme Court which ruled that the PHC has jurisdiction of hearing this petition. The PHC while taking up the petition again decided the case in favour of the sacked employees.
