PESHAWAR, 16 December: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday here announced to establish a university in remembrance of the martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar.

Addressing a ceremony held in the Army Public School on the first anniversary of the terrible episode that shook the whole nation, the prime minister said the APS attack united the whole nation against militancy and terrorism and the war against terrorism would be continued till the elimination of the last terrorist.

Nawaz Sharif also announced that December 16 would be observed every year as national day of commitment towards education.

The ceremony was also attended by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, chief ministers of the four provinces and other political and military leadership.

Later, certificates and shields were given to the family members of martyred students and teachers.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government renamed the Archives library after the APS martyrs in a function held here.

Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak and other political leaders and parents of martyred students also attended the function.

Imran Khan also announced the technical university which would be built in Haripur would also be named after the APS victims.
