PESHAWAR, 29 April: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has increased the monthly remuneration of house job officers at government and private hospitals by Rs6,000.
According to sources, a statement in this regard stated that the decision would be binding on all the hospitals and strict action would be taken against hospitals that did not comply.
“We are performing duties in wards and this raise of Rs6,000 is not enough. House job officers in Punjab are receiving more than Rs50,000. However, we are still thankful to the government for this raise,” a doctor told TNN.
“This raise in salary will encourage the doctors and will enhance their dedication towards their job. This will also help them meet their expanses,” another doctor said.
The house job doctors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were earlier receiving Rs24,000 as monthly remuneration.
