PESHAWAR, November 15: Ms Marvi Memon, one of the prominent members of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has protested against the detention of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency, in front of lock up/jail.
Mr Nazir Khan, president of PML-N in Bannu, and Marvi Memon said the displaced people had protested against the alleged corruption of police authorities two days ago. As a result, the police maltreated them and put them into jail, they said.
Contrary to that, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Chief of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan have termed the protest of Ms Memon a conspiracy.
Mr Khan said it was the responsibility of the federal government, instead of provincial government, to sort out the problems of displaced people.
Later, Ms Memon dispelled the statement of Mr Khan and said the problem arose due to the provincial police.
