Police accused of keeping man in illegal custody

KOHAT, 17 March: Waseem Raza, a resident of Kohat district on Friday accused SHO of City police station of detaining him for not giving bribe.
Hailing from Chakar Kot village, Raza also alleged that policemen threw him from the second floor of police station after an investigating team ordered by a local court reached for investigation in the matter.
Throwing him away from the building fracture one of his leg, further of aggrieved man told media while addressing a press conference at Orakzai Press Club.
His father informed reporters that Raza was arrested from Hangu Pathak for carrying a licensed pistol and kept him for six days in detention.
“I approached to lower court against the SHO and registered an FIR against him,” he said. After approaching to court, SHO made a baseless case against his son, he alleged.
When contacted, SHO Tahir Nawaz told TNN that Waseem Raza was arrested for suspicious activities. During interrogation, it was revealed that he have links with criminals and provided shelter to MQM’s criminal. He is also wanted police in robberies, killing and an attempt of murders cases, SHO concluded.
