TAKHTBHAI: Takhtbhai police recovered body of a six year old girl from fields near her house, the police said.
Her hands and legs were tied and she was bearing injuries marks on her body. Her forensic and post-mortem reports have been sent to Mardan Medical Complex to ascertain if she was raped or not, the police informed.
The girl Fatwa went missing a day ago from her home in Takhtbhai after which her family registered a report with police and started searching her but on the next day they found her body in the fields. Father of the victim is a religious scholar who is teaching at a nearby seminary.
The incidents of sexual assaults and rape on increase in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province as two weeks ago, the body of a 12-year-old boy, who was strangulated after sexual abuse, was recovered from Kabul River in Nowshera on Friday. The sources in the hospital confirmed that the boy was sexually abused several times before his death.
TNN reported on 17th April, 2018 that police had arrested the accused involved in sexual abuse and rape of five-year-old girl in Swat.
In another incident that happened in 2017, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Swat handed death sentence on three counts to a person from Shangla for raping and killing a five-year-old girl. The court also imposed Rs 600,000 fine on the convict.
Early in January, 2018, one minor girl from Mardan and two minor boys from Upper Dir and Harripur were also sexually abused. A report published in January 2018, informed that 156 sexual abuse cases were reported in KP’s 12 districts during last six years.
