PESHAWAR, 20 May: Unidentified armed men have shot dead a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in Peshawar.

Police said the Counter Terrorism Department DSP Bahadur Khan was going for his duty in Gulbahar area when unidentified armed men opened fire on his vehicle leaving him critically injured. The injured police officer was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The slain DSP had received several threats in the past. The security forces cordoned off the area after the incident and launched a search operation to nab the culprits.
