PESHAWAR: Inspector Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salahuddin Mehsud has constituted teams of senior officers who will visit tribal districts to understand ground realities in terms of counter terrorism, crime and security dimension.
The teams will propose requirement and implementation plan for policing of the tribal districts, says a letter issued here from IG KP office.
Each team will consist of six to eight officers including a senior superintendent of police, deputy superintendent, few inspectors and support staff.
A team headed by Regional Police Officer Malakand Range Saeed Khan Wazir will visit Bajaur, team lead by Mohammad Ali Gandapur, DIG and RPO Mardan, will visit Mohmand, DIG Kohat Ejaz Khan will visit Orakzai, Kurram and merged areas of Frontier Region Kohat.
Besides, team headed by DIG Bannu Muhammad Kareem Khan will visit North Waziristan and merged areas of Bannu and Lakki Marwat while DIG DI Khan Dar Ali Khattak will visit South Waziristan and merged areas of Tank and DI Khan.
“Since Pak army has restored writ of the government and is dealing with matter of counter terrorism and law enforcement in erstwhile Fata,” it read, adding that it would be highly advantageous if police teams visit these areas for joint deliberation for assessing the security scenario in former Fata.
It said that developing a policing plan for each merged will involve extensive deliberations, data analysis and physical inspection of the existing infrastructure of Levies/Khasadar. “Therefore, structured templates, are being developed which the visiting team will share with the respective field commanders of Pak army before the visits,” the notification said.
