CHARSADDA, 21 March: A policeman was injured in firing on a census team in Charsadda on Tuesday, while the attacker was also injured in retaliatory firing.

Police said the census team was performing duties in Harichand area in the morning when a person, identified as Fakhr-e-Alam, opened fire on them leaving a policeman Taj Muhammad injured. The attacker was also injured in the retaliatory firing. Both the injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for treatment.

Specific details about the attack could not be received. However, local people said Fakhr-e-Alam was wanted to police in different cases and he opened fire on the police as he feared that the policemen had come there to arrest him.
