PESHAWAR, 21 June: A policeman was killed and three others sustained injuries in a bomb blast on Charsadda Road in Peshawar on Monday.

SP Rural Shakir Bangash said the policemen were on routine patrol in Shakardarra area in the evening when a remote controlled device exploded on them. Four injured policemen were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital where one of them, Abdur Rahim succumbed to injuries. Doctors say the condition of other injured policemen, Tariq, Mukhtiar and Gul Dad is out of danger now.

Police cordoned off the area after the blast and started investigation. An increase has been witnessed in attacks on police in Peshawar recently. A policeman was also shot dead in Khazana area two days ago.
