BANNU, 9 October: The activists and leaders of political parties from North Waziristan Agency (NWA)continued their strike on the second consecutive day for the early repatriation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and acceptance of their demands by the government.Local tribal elders and young people joined the sit-in in front of Bannu press club on Friday.

Talking to TNN, the chairman of all political parties’ allies Abdul Jalil said that the IDPs had lost each and every thing in the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants in NWA and asked the authorities to compensate them for their human as well as property loses.

Otherwise, they would continue their strike till fulfillment of their demands, he warned.One of the protestors demanded that all those Non Government Organizations (NGOs) working for the welfare and rehabilitation of IDPs in Bannu, should recruit the educated youth from NWA instead of local Bannu residents.
