KABUL, 7 October: Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani is considering visiting Pakistan in the near future after being invited by Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa during his recent visit to the country, Afghan news agency Khaama Press reported.

Accordint the report, Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Omar Zakhilwal too confirmed that Ghani was invited to Pakistan by Gen Bajwa in Kabul last week.

He said that President Ghani has accepted the invitation and likely to visit Pakistan in near future.

It was not yet clear when the visit was scheduled to take place as the Afghan government has not commented on the matter.

According to media reports, Afghan President Ghani also urged the Government of Pakistan to intensify state-to-state dialogue in a bid to help secure regional peace and stability.
