PESHAWAR, 11 May: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says a committee has been formed to expel corrupt elements from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad yesterday, the minister said the probe committee will comprise of representatives from secret agencies. Mr Nisar said he wants to cleanse the FIA from corrupt elements. He said the first meeting of the probe committee will be called within next few days.

The minister said the unverified arms licences will expire in January 2016. He said no arms licences will be issued to people below 25 years of age.

Mr Nisar said no name has been included in the exit control list (ECL) on political basis. He said all the names in the ECL have been put on the recommendations of the courts and investigation agencies.

He said the government is making a policy regarding the use of bullet-proof vehicles. He said under the new policy, government permission will be must for the use of bullet-proof vehicles.
