JAMRUD, 9 October: The People’s Students Federation (PSF) of Khyber Agency chapter protested, against what it called the increasing number of traffic accidents on Pak-Afghan route that caused several casualties, here in Jamrud on Friday. The local activists and leaders of PSF and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) walked from Jamrud press club to Bab-e-Khyber on Pak-Afghan highway to record their protest
. The protesting students blocked the main high way for some time that caused traffic jam. The protestors said that a number of women and children had died in growing traffic accidents happened in Khyber Agency on the main highway connecting Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Hazrat Wali president of PPP Khyber Agency also participated in the protest. He told TNN “we demand the political administration of Khyber make the traffic system better to ensure the smooth flow of small and heavy vehicles on the road. The better traffic system will help reduce the number of accidents and casualties”.
