NOWSHERA, 1 June: The father of the slain PTI activist, who died in a firing incident during the local bodies polls in Nowshera, has told the court that he registered the murder case against the ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain over pressure from someone.
The PTI activist’s father, Sher Alam told a local court in Nowshera that Mr Iftikhar and his guard are not involved in the murder of his son and he filed cases against them as he was under pressure from some quarters. The ANP leader said the court should investigate the whole episode of inclusion of his name in the murder case and also find the real culprits.
The PTI activist Habibullah was killed two days ago in an armed clash between the PTI and ANP activists. The FIR of Mr Habibullah’s murder was filed against Mr Iftikhar. The court during the hearing of the case handed the ANP leader to police on a one-day judicial remand.
A number of political parties have criticized the PTI for the arrest of Mr Iftikhar. However, the PTI chief Imran Khan has denied PTI’s involvement in the ANP leader’s arrest.
