PESHAWAR, September 18: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to extend their protests to entire country.
On 17 September, the participants of the PTI’s core committee meeting said that they would continue their protest in Islamabad till the resignation of Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif and would also stage weekly protests in the whole country.
The PTI activists were directed to make preparations for protests at tehsil level. Yesterday Imran Khan told his party’s sit-in that he would address a sit-in in Karachi on 21 September.
Mr Khan also alleged that the government had arrested 5,000 PTI workers to flop their sit-in in Islamabad.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif said that he had been elected by about 180 million people of Pakistan so he would not resign just because of the demand of 5,000 people.
On 17 September, the police registered a case against Mr Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Mr Shahbaz Sharif and others in a case pertaining to killing of several activists of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) during a protest a few months ago. PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has now demanded the arrest of those nominated in the case.
