MARDAN, 22 December: Mardan district nazim Himayatullah Mayar has criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for not providing adequate development funds for development schemes in Mardan due to political rivalry.

The district nazim said while addressing a press conference at Mardan Press Club on Wednesday that the District Hospital, Bacha Khan Medical College, Benazir Children Hospital and several other projects were initiated by the Awami National Party (ANP) government which were to be completed in 2014. He said these projects could not be completed as yet due to shortage of funds.

The district nazim alleged that the PTI members of KP Assembly were involved in corruption. He said he has filed a case against provincial minister Atif Khan and lawmaker Iftikhar Mashwani over corruption in the Rs2 billion project to purchase furniture for government schools. He said a case is already filed against them in the Ehtesab Commission. He alleged that lawmakers Zahid Durrani and Iftikhar Mashwani also mint money from contractors, tehsildar and patwaris.

“These lawmakers minted Rs4.8 million from the contractors in the TMA contracts. I am committed to expose corruption in the development projects and save the money of people,” he said.
