PESHAWAR, 21 February: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member Provincial Assembly from PK-7 constituency, Mehmood Jan has tendered resignation over not getting funds for development schemes in his constituency.
Mehmood Jan submitted his resignation with Speaker Asad Qaiser before the start of the Assembly session on Monday. While speaking on a point of order at the Assembly, Mehmood Jan said the KP government was not distributing development funds transparently and the funds of Peshawar were being diverted to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) ministers to appease them. He said the PTI workers are feeling deprived due to this attitude of the provincial government.
Mehmood Jan said he had taken votes from the people in the name of Insaf (justice) but now he has no justification to stay in the Assembly after failure to provide justice to people.
A Jirga tried to convince Mehmood Jan to take back his resignation, but he refused and went out of the Assembly building.
