PESHAWAR, September 3: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI)’s members of the National Assembly participated in the parliamentary session for the last time to respond to certain allegations against the party.
PTI Vice President Mr Shah Mehmood Quresi told the house that they were being blamed for attack on Parliament House but that “it’s not true”.
He said they could never ask their party supporters to attack the Parliament House. Mr Qureshi said they were not staging the march against the parliament, but that their protest was in favour of a strong parliament.
He said their protest was against rigging in last year’s election. During the speech of Mr Qureshi, Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif walked out of the parliament while many other members of the National Assembly chanted slogans against the PTI.
Mr Qureshi did not say anything about the resignations of their party’s parliamentarians.
Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that after the members of PTI had submitted their resignations, they should not be allowed for debates in the assembly.
On the other hand, Pakistan Awami Tehrik chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has rejected the reports that he was planning to end his long march. The second round of negotiations between the government and PTI, PAT leaders are under way.
