PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to realise its dream of ‘Naya Pakistan’ as it is clearly leading the initial results obtained so far from various media sources.
According to preliminary unofficial results, the PTI is leading on 114 National Assembly seats, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) trails behind with 64 and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is at third spot with 42 seats.
The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MQM) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) are leading on eight seats each, while the Grand Democratic Alliance of Sindh is leading on five seats.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has got four seats, Sheikh Rashid AML got one seat, while the Awami National Party (ANP) also got one seat in the National Assembly.
The PTI is clearly steering ahead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a lead on 64 seats against the MMA, which is currently leading on 12 seats and ANP on eight seats.
In Punjab, the PML-N is currently holding its lead on 129 provincial seats, but the PTI is closing in with a lead on 122 seats. Independents have also got 31 seats.
The preliminary results in Sindh show the PPP is leading on 75 seats, followed by the PTI on 22 seats and MQM-P on 17 seats.
In Balochistan, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) is leading on 12 provincial seats, followed by Balochistan National Party (BNP) on nine seats.
Although the PTI workers and supporters started celebrations before the final results, but the PTI chief Imran Khan has not issued any statement about the victory so far.
