PESHAWAR, 18 September: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday submitted details of party finances from 2010 to 2017 before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The PTI foreign funding case was taken up for hearing by a five-member Commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan in Islamabad.
PTI’s counsel while submitting the details of the party’s finances before the commission requested that the same should not be shared with the petitioner Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of the party.
The Chief Election Commission observed that the Lahore High Court has recently said in one of its orders that all political parties should display details of the assets on the official websites of their respective parties. Besides, the Chief Election Commissioner said that the ECP has provided details of assets of different political parties to certain individuals. He further noted that these are the same documents which were submitted by the PTI to the Supreme Court.
The Commission will resume hearing of the case on 16th of next month.
