PESHAWAR, 3 September: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold an ‘Ehtesab March’ against alleged corruption of the federal government in Lahore today (Saturday).-
The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has also completed preparations for its protest over the Model Town incident.
Media reports said the PTI rally will begin from Shahdara Chowk in Lahore and will conclude at Chairing Cross after covering nine kilometres distance. A special container has arrived in Lahore for the PTI chief Imran Khan and other leaders.
A statement from the police chief’s office said 5,000 policemen, 1,000 Razakars, bomb disposal squad and rescue personnel will be deployed for the rally over security concerns.
On the other hand, the PAT chief Tahirul Qadri will lead the ‘Qisas Rally’ in Rawalpindi.
This rally is being held in protest against the killing of several PAT workers during a protest in Model Town, Lahore in 2014.
