PESHAWAR, August 26: Dr Tahirul Qadri of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik has refused to follow the Supreme Court verdict to vacate the Constitution Avenue in federal capital Islamabad.

Today the state lawyer Salman Aslam Butt said in a notification submitted to the SC registrar that the PTI and PAT had been informed about the Supreme Court orders. However, the PTI says they have occupied the Parade Avenue, not Constitution Avenue and that the PTI rally is not troubling local residents.

He said the Pakistan Awami Tehrik refused to vacate the route completely but that it had agreed to vacate some portion of the route.

Both parties have been protesting in Islamabad for the last 12 days. The PTI says its protest, named Independence March, will continue till Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif resigns, while PAT says it is determined to dissolve all provincial and National assemblies as the party has called its long march as Revolution March.
