PESHAWAR, 18 December: The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has demanded representation for all the FATA agencies in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in the 2018 general elections.

The QWP chief Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said while addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Saturday that his party fully support reforms in FATA. He said representation of the FATA in the provincial assembly will resolve many problems of the area.

Mr Sherpao said the federal government should not focus all its attention on Punjab and FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country should also get development funds transparently.

The QWP chief said peace in the region is not possible without good relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. However, he lamented that the ties between the two neighbouring countries are worsening with every passing day.

On the occasion, a number of elders from Mehsud tribe of South Waziristan Agency announced to join the QWP.
