UPPER DIR, 7 October: Rabid dogs have bitten 12 people in Upper Dir, while the area people have expressed concern over unavailability of vaccine in Sheringal Hospital.

The local people said rabid dogs have bitten 12 people, including five children and three women, in Sheringal and surrounding areas. They said the rabid dogs are also attacking their cattle. The affected people were taken to Timergara Hospital due to unavailability of vaccine in Sheringal Hospital. The administration of Sheringal Hospital said they find it difficult to preserve the vaccine due to power load-shedding that is why it is not available.

People of the area have shot dead one of the three rabid dogs and search for other rabid dogs was continuing.
