PESHAWAR: After a long dry spell, the Metrological Department has predicted rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, tribal districts and many parts of the country today (Sunday) and snowfall in mountainous areas.
It has been predicted that rain spell will begin in the evening today and continue till Tuesday. Some areas are expected to receive heavy rain, while others will receive light rain. Snowfall is expected in mountainous areas of Malakand, Hazara divisions, Murree, Galiyat, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Met Office has also issued third alert of this year regarding fewer rains due to the impact of climate change. The alert says 27 districts of Sindh and Balochistan will face from medium to high levels of drought. Agricultural lands and cattle are likely to be affected from drought-like situation.
In Peshawar minimum temperature on Sunday was 8 degrees centigrade, while moisture was 85 percent.
