JAMRUD, 30 October: Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday here organized a protest rally against the inefficiency of the political administration for not taking effective measures to curb the outbreak of dengue virus.

The rally started from the office of Education Officer and ended at the historic Bab-e-Khyber. The participants of the rally were holding banners and party flags and shouting slogans against the administration for its failure in controlling the dengue outbreak.

They said that the number of dengue patients are increasing day by day in Jamrud subdivision but the local health department and the political administration did not take any effective measures to control the virus.

The protesters also chanted slogans against the elected representatives and said they too, did not bother to address the problem on war footings.

The tribesmen alleged that the local administration had been using substandard chemicals while carrying out spray in the affected areas.

They demanded of the administration and health department to take solid steps to eradicate the virus and stop its further breakout in the agency.

It merits a mention here that dengue has claimed 64 lives in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Majority of the deaths have taken place in the provincial metropolis. A lady also died of the fever in Jamrud subdivision the other day.
