PESHAWAR: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Thursday that administrative reforms in FATA are inevitable.
In an interview with a private news channel, the DG ISPR said the government and other institutions should accelerate their efforts for implementation of reforms in the tribal areas. Major General Asif Ghafoor said the Army will stay in FATA as the people of the tribal areas desire so.
The military spokesman said restoration of peace was a very difficult task. However, he said Pakistan succeeded in restoring peace on its side and now it is the responsibility of Afghanistan to establish peace on its side. He said Pakistan has presented its point of view on the US President Donald Trump’s statements. He said the US cannot defeat al-Qaeda without the help of Pakistan. The DG ISPR said Pakistan cannot be blamed for failure of others in Afghanistan.
Asif Ghafoor said India was involved in destabilising Pakistan. He said law and order situation was created in Balochistan to sabotage the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said CPEC signified strong bonds between Pakistan and China. He said Pakistan is fully concentrating on removing sense of deprivation of the people of Balochistan and completing development projects in the province.
